Overview
Rare Dementia Support Canada (RDSC) provides a continuous and tailored specialist support community for people living with, affected by, or at risk of a diagnosis of rare or young onset dementia. Shout worked with the RDSC team to develop a site which is one of the only early-onset dementia sites in Canada.
Work We Did
Before the site’s development, Shout conducted extensive research and content development because this site would be the only site in Canada that offered resources for support and services for caregivers, health care providers and patients with rare or young onset dementia.
The site had to have seamless website navigation because of the breadth of users accessing the information. Again accessibility was of the utmost importance, and mobile optimization was vital.
The user experience was at the forefront of web design and development. Multiple conversations and collaboration with the rare dementia support team were held to achieve the final results.
The project included a resource section, copywriting, AODA WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, project management, and a bright, welcoming design.
The Outcome
Once the site was completed, the staff and administrators were trained on the site, and both the administrators and the users received the site well.
