Northern College enrolls approximately 1500 full-time students annually. With locations in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Moosonee, and Temiskaming Shores. Northern College provides quality education through innovative programs, services and partnerships that benefit the northern communities.

Northern College hired Shout in 2022 to develop their new website. This project involved a collaborative team effort to determine what content from the existing site was relevant and what was redundant. The Shout and Northern teams evaluated all analytics to decide what pages remained and were to be eliminated before creating the site architecture, wireframe and migration.

The site was developed mobile first based on user statistics. The Account and Project Management team at Shout kept the project on schedule and budget throughout the nine-month project. Once the site was designed and main pages developed by Shout, Shout’s web team trained Northern employees on how to create new pages and the team worked together to create ninety-six main pages and one hundred and ninety program pages prior to launch.

The team leads also made recommendations on content development, testing, compliance, helped with copywriting, implemented advanced SEO work, and provide advice and guidance on the best add-ons and plug-ins for the project.

For this project, Shout Media had to develop an excellent understanding of the programs offered, the audiences, and the user experience. Shout also acted as a consultant, recommending user interface and user experience best practices. The Client Success Manager was instrumental in the facilitation of the project from start to finish. Shout Media is currently in the process of exploring graphic design and digital marketing strategies for Northern College.

At launch, Shout remained as a resource for any edits, additional training, support and any other assistance. The project created a strong bond between the team at Northern and the Shout team and the post-mortem meeting consensus was that this project was a complete success.
