In Good Hands is an authority in Food Handling certification in Ontario, built by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s Public Health Inspectors. When Shout Media received this project, we were facing an almost 20 year-old training platform that was required to catch up with modern web design conventions and changes to the provincial food handling certification.

Our web development team created a WordPress plugin from the ground up for this modern Learning Management System in order to seamlessly integrate a front end website with the learning modules. The platform was optimized for both responsive designs on mobile and desktop so students can participate whenever it’s convenient for them – even on the go.

We also set up exams to be fully proctored online, easing the organizational time and resources required for in-person exams, and integrated business capabilities including employee codes and a manager’s dashboard.

Thanks to the new streamlined process, In Good Hands is expected to handle upwards of 9,000 students per year – a two-fold increase from the old system.
