The client operates a digital training and certification platform serving both individual learners and businesses. Their goals were to modernize the learning experience, improve mobile usability and accessibility, streamline business self-serve capabilities, and strengthen administrative controls and reporting. A major focus was making courses easier to consume across devices, improving engagement for diverse learners (including visually impaired users), and enabling businesses to efficiently manage employees, certifications, billing, and reporting. The scope also included platform scalability, fraud prevention, and improved marketing and renewal visibility to support long-term growth.
The Challenge
The platform had grown feature-rich but faced mobile usability issues, dated learning interactions, and limited accessibility. Business users lacked efficient self-serve tools, real-time visibility into employee progress, and streamlined purchasing and invoicing. Administrators faced friction managing classes, refunds, renewals, and in-person training logistics. The client needed better insight into user behaviour, stronger exam integrity, and clearer pathways to drive renewals and multilingual adoption—without disrupting existing users.
Our Approach
We took a holistic, user-centered approach. First, we prioritized mobile responsiveness and touch-friendly interactions to improve accessibility and ease of use. We redesigned the course experience with audio-based learning, onboarding, progress indicators, and modern interactive elements. Usability testing validated assumptions and informed refinements.
- For businesses, we introduced self-serve registration, purchasing safeguards, progress tracking, certificate access, and automated invoicing.
- Administrative workflows were simplified with better class management, refunds, reminders, and reporting.
- Data insights were strengthened through heat mapping and Talview upgrades, while marketing and renewal visibility were improved across the platform.
The Results
