Meta Can Run Your Ads.

Meta Can Run Your Ads.
Should It?
The Boost Post button might be the easiest way to waste $100 on Meta.
Not because boosting is always bad… but because spending money without a strategy is.
Boost a post. Pick a budget. Let Meta choose the audience. Turn on a few AI recommendations. Your ad is running.
That doesn’t mean it’s running well.
Before You Put Money Behind a Post
Ask:
- Who are we targeting?
- What’s the objective?
- What’s the offer?
- Where are we sending them?
- Are we retargeting?
- What are we tracking?
- What’s actually converting?
Hitting boost answers exactly none of those questions.
Boosting isn’t necessarily bad. There are times when putting some extra spend behind a strong post makes sense.
If your goal is simply to get more eyes on a piece of content that’s already performing well, promote an event, increase local awareness or reach more people with an important update, a boost can do the job.
The problem is when you expect that boost to do more…generate qualified leads, drive sales, build a funnel or become your entire paid advertising plan.
But boosting is a tactic. It’s not an ad strategy.
Meta AI Is Good. It’s Not a Marketing Team.
Meta wants your ads to perform. And its AI and automated tools can be really useful. We use them too. We just don’t blindly say yes to everything Meta recommends.
Because Meta might rewrite your copy.
And suddenly, it doesn’t sound like your brand.
It might add music to your ad.
The song might be completely wrong for the message.
It might expand your placements to get more results.
Now your headline is cut off, your graphic doesn’t fit, and the person seeing it is left wondering what the ad was even supposed to say.
Technically, the ad is running.
That doesn’t mean it’s running well.
AI can optimize. But someone still needs to know what to turn on, what to turn off and when Meta’s “recommendation” isn’t actually a good recommendation for your business.
If you don’t know what you’re looking for, you might not know you’re doing yourself a disservice.
Clicking the Buttons Isn’t the Hard Part
Anyone can launch an ad. The strategy is everything happening around it. The audience. The creative. The offer. The landing page. The tracking. The retargeting. The testing. The optimization.
And then actually looking at the results and asking:
Is this working?
Not: Did we get clicks?
Not: Did Meta spend the budget?
Did the campaign do what we needed it to do?
That’s the difference.
Don’t Boost and Hope.
At Shout, we don’t just put money behind posts and see what happens. We build the audience. Plan the creative. Set up the funnel. Track what matters. Retarget. Test. Optimize. Because running the ad is the easy part.
Running the right ad is where strategy comes in.
