About the Role

The account manager is crucial in building and maintaining strong client relationships. Their primary responsibility is to act as a liaison between the agency and the clients, ensuring that client needs are understood and addressed effectively. The account manager role is crucial in maintaining client satisfaction and driving business growth for both the agency and clients.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hold sales and discovery calls, establish relationships with prospective clients, propose services and generate new business.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by handling incoming inquiries from existing clients and address their needs promptly.
  • Facilitate client and project onboarding by identifying client objectives, project deliverables, and developing a scope of work.
  • Meet regularly with project managers and other Shout team members as necessary to discuss project and account statuses of existing clients. Work closely with the project management team to develop strategic plans to ensure that the client’s objectives are met and provide continued value to the client.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate client records, keeping track of contract updates and renewals, and ensuring clients are invoiced appropriately for all work and services delivered. Stay on top of accounts, ensuring they receive services within their budget and meet their needs.
  • Review, assess, and share progress and KPI reports with both clients and senior management.
  • Responsible for building and strengthening client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication with both the clients and internal team members.
  • Continually grow client accounts by both identifying and proposing new service opportunities that serve our existing clients and meet their needs. Identify upsell, cross-sell and renewal opportunities by reviewing client history, understanding seasonal trends, and forecasting upcoming potential work.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our products and services to upsell better and cross-sell to our clients.
  • Love the marketing industry! Make a constant effort to continually grow your understanding of the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape (website trends, new and emerging social media platforms, etc.)

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business, and/or related fields
  • Three Years of account management experience
  • Two years of digital marketing within a marketing agency

Desired Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop Strong relationships with both Shout clients and Shout employees.
  • Proficiency in French as a second language is an asset.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of some of the following Digital Marketing tactics, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-per-click (Google), Display Advertising, Google Analytics, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Advertising and Management, and any other newly emerging traffic building and measurement programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging social media trends
  • Passion and drive for the industry.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, flex easily should projects or priorities shift, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills, including working under deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and experience using project management software.
  • Able to work in project management software (Monday or Asana)
